How do I clean my watch?

Keeping your Hampden watch clean keeps it looking and performing well. Follow the guidelines below for each component. If you're not sure which straps came with your watch, see which straps come with my watch.

Watch case and crystal

• Do not soak the case in water.
• Wipe the case gently with a damp or dry microfiber cloth.
• For the crystal, you can use a standard glass or lens cleaner.

Metal bracelets

• Remove the bracelet from your watch using the quick-release tabs on the back. Pull them toward each other to release the bracelet.
• Soak briefly in warm, soapy water using a mild dish soap.
• Use a soft toothbrush to clean between the links.
• Rinse thoroughly and dry with a microfiber cloth, or allow it to air dry completely before reattaching.

Leather straps

• Only clean if necessary, and don't soak a leather strap.
• Gently wipe with a dry microfiber cloth.
• For tougher spots, use a slightly damp cloth, or a dry toothbrush for small creases.
• Leather conditioners or mild leather cleaning products may be used occasionally.
• Leather straps are not water resistant, but calf leather often has a water-repellent coating that gives some protection.

Silicone-backed leather straps

• These straps are water resistant.
• Clean with warm, soapy water or a damp microfiber cloth.

Routine service

Hampden mechanical watches should be professionally serviced every few years to maintain both performance and appearance.
